Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty & Brow Lift
Upper and lower blepharoplasty for mid-life and aging eyelids, combined with suprabrow or infrabrow lifting and glabellar frown line refinement.
Overview: Mid-Life Blepharoplasty & Brow Lift
Periorbital aging affects both visual comfort and facial expression. Excess upper eyelid skin can weigh down the eyelashes, cause lateral skin irritation, and trigger chronic forehead muscle strain, while lower eyelid laxity and orbital fat prolapse create persistent tired contours. At BONITA Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Clinic, Dr. Kwang-Seup Jung customizes upper and lower eyelid procedures according to brow position, skin thickness, and levator function.
Core Surgical Options
1. Upper Blepharoplasty (middle_eyes.html, middle_eyes_2.html)
Excision of redundant upper eyelid skin and hypertrophic orbicularis muscle, accompanied by natural crease reconstruction so the eyes open comfortably without an over-corrected or artificial look.
2. Suprabrow / Infrabrow Lift (middle_eyes_1.html)
For patients whose thick lateral eyelid skin hoods over the outer corner of the eye, a fine incision along the upper or lower margin of the eyebrow elevates the lateral lid skin while preserving the patient's original eyelid fold and softening glabellar frown lines.
3. Lower Blepharoplasty (middle_eyes_3.html)
Performed through a concealed subciliary incision just below the lower eyelashes to redistribute bulging orbital fat across the tear trough, tighten the lax orbicularis oculi muscle, and trim redundant lower eyelid skin.
Recovery & Potential Risks
- Recovery Timeline: Sutures are typically removed 5–7 days post-operatively; visible bruising and swelling subside over 1–3 weeks.
- Potential Risks & Side Effects: Temporary dry eye symptoms, swelling, bruising, crease asymmetry, visible scarring, or lower lid malposition (ectropion) if excessive skin is excised.
