Eye & Eyelid Surgery

Functional and aesthetic periorbital surgery including upper and lower blepharoplasty for aging eyes, transconjunctival under-eye fat repositioning, and brow lifting.

Periorbital & Mid-Life Eyelid Surgery

The periorbital region is often the first area to show structural aging—manifesting as upper eyelid skin hooding, lateral brow descent, lower eyelid skin laxity, and herniation of orbital fat pads accompanied by tear-trough hollowing. BONITA's Eye & Eyelid Surgery Center focuses on restoring both visual comfort and natural periorbital expression.

Core Procedures in This Center

1. Upper Blepharoplasty (Upper Blepharoplasty)

Designed for middle-aged and senior patients experiencing upper eyelid dermatochalasis (excess sagging skin) that obscures the natural crease or causes lateral skin chafing and compensatory forehead wrinkling. Redundant skin and muscle are carefully excised while recreating a natural crease suited to the patient's brow-to-lid anatomy.

2. Lower Blepharoplasty (Lower Blepharoplasty)

Performed via a fine subciliary incision beneath the lower lash line to address prominent under-eye bags, festoons, and lower lid skin laxity simultaneously. Protruding orbital fat is redistributed into depressed tear troughs while tightening the orbicularis oculi muscle.

3. Transconjunctival Under-Eye Fat Repositioning (Under-Eye Fat Repositioning)

For patients with bulging under-eye fat pads and dark tear-trough shadows but minimal excess skin, orbital fat is repositioned through an internal conjunctival approach—leaving no visible external skin scar.

4. Suprabrow / Infrabrow Lift (Brow Lift)

Targeted brow lifting along the upper or lower border of the eyebrow to elevate drooping lateral eyelid skin and soften deep glabellar frown lines while preserving the patient's natural eyelid crease.

Clinical Safety & Recovery Considerations

  • Individualized Planning: Incision placement, crease height, and skin excision volume are measured precisely in upright and supine positions by Dr. Kwang-Seup Jung.
  • Potential Risks & Side Effects: Post-operative swelling, bruising, temporary dry eyes, asymmetry, suture cyst formation, or ectropion (if excessive lower lid skin is removed) are potential risks managed through conservative tissue handling and structured follow-up.
