Secondary Breast Revision Surgery
Secondary breast surgery for capsular contracture release, pocket reconstruction, implant exchange, or correction of breast asymmetry and malposition.
Overview: Secondary Breast Revision Surgery
Breast Revision Surgery (breast_2.html) addresses functional discomfort or contour distortion following previous breast augmentation. Dr. Kwang-Seup Jung evaluates the existing implant condition, capsule thickness, and soft-tissue envelope to plan targeted corrective surgery.
Common Indications & Surgical Correction
- Capsular Contracture (Baker Grade III–IV): Capsulectomy or capsulotomy to release hardened scar tissue around the implant, often accompanied by pocket plane conversion (e.g., subglandular to dual-plane) and implant replacement.
- Implant Malposition & Asymmetry: Pocket reconstruction and internal suture reinforcement to correct bottoming-out, lateral displacement, symmastia, or uneven inframammary folds.
- Implant Rupture, Rippling, or Size Exchange: Safe removal of aging or compromised implants with pocket irrigation and optional replacement or autologous fat grafting.
Recovery & Potential Risks
- Recovery Timeline: Revision procedures require individualized post-operative garment support and close clinical monitoring over the first 2–4 weeks.
- Potential Risks & Side Effects: Bleeding, hematoma, seroma, infection, recurrent capsular contracture, sensory changes, or residual contour asymmetry.
